Aussiedoodle colors
A Aussiedoodle inherits its colour from both parents — the Australian Shepherd and the Poodle. Here are the colours you'll commonly see, which are rarer, and which come with a health note.
| Colour | Notes |
|---|---|
| Blue merle ⚠️ | Grey-blue mottled; very popular — read the health note below. |
| Red merle ⚠️ | Red mottled — read the health note below. |
| Black tri | Black, white and copper. |
| Red tri | Red, white and copper. |
| Solid black / red | Also seen. |
| Phantom | Tan-point pattern. |
⚠️ About merle Aussiedoodles: merle is a beautiful pattern, but breeding two merle dogs together can produce "double-merle" puppies with a high risk of deafness and blindness. A responsible breeder never pairs merle × merle. Read the merle genetics & health guide →
Rarer colours are often priced higher by breeders, but colour has no effect on health or temperament — don't pay a premium for a "rare" colour alone. Coat colour can also shift as a puppy matures. See how it works.
