Goldendoodle colors

A Goldendoodle inherits its colour from both parents — the Golden Retriever and the Poodle. Here are the colours you'll commonly see, which are rarer, and which come with a health note.

ColourNotes
CreamVery common; pale to light golden.
ApricotCommon; warm orange-tan.
RedPopular; deep copper — often fades a little with age.
GoldClassic Golden-Retriever tone.
BlackLess common; needs a black Poodle parent.
Chocolate / BrownLess common; from the Poodle side.
PartiTwo-colour (white + patches); rarer.
PhantomTan points, Dobermann-like pattern; uncommon.

Rarer colours are often priced higher by breeders, but colour has no effect on health or temperament — don't pay a premium for a "rare" colour alone. Coat colour can also shift as a puppy matures. See how it works.
