About FurWeather

FurWeather exists because almost every doodle page online makes promises genetics can't keep — "won't shed", "always 20 lbs", "100% hypoallergenic". We'd rather show you the real odds.

Who's behind it

FurWeather was founded by Metta.C, a dog lover and independent maker. The idea came from a simple frustration: almost every page about doodles promises a puppy "won't shed" or "stays tiny" — things genetics genuinely can't guarantee. I wanted a tool that shows the real odds instead of the sales pitch.

I'm not a vet or a breeder, and FurWeather doesn't pretend to be. Every prediction is built on published coat-genetics research and breed-standard data, shown as probabilities with a confidence level, with every source listed on the methodology page. For health-sensitive topics — such as merle genetics — we follow cited veterinary sources, and we're adding a named veterinary / canine-genetics reviewer to double-check that work.

FurWeather is an independent project, not affiliated with any breeder, registry or brand.

Editorial policy

• Every prediction is a probability range with a confidence level — never a guarantee.
• We cite our sources and date when the data was last reviewed.
• We say plainly when a coat or size is genuinely hard to predict (e.g. F2).
• Affiliate links (e.g. DNA tests) are marked and never change the numbers we show.

Independence & disclosure

We may earn a commission from clearly-marked links to products like DNA tests or pet gear. This funds the free tool and never influences a prediction. We do not sell dogs or run a breeder directory.
